Meet the Trustee: Christine Cumming
Christine M. Cumming, Ph.D. joined the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) Board of Trustees in January 2016 and serves as secretary and treasurer. Her term concludes on December 31, 2020.

Dr. Cumming is a retired first vice president and chief operating officer of the Federal Reserve Bank of New York. She served in various leadership roles with the bank from 1979 to 2015.

During her tenure at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Dr. Cumming served as a member of the Management Committee. She also oversaw the development of the Bank's comprehensive risk management program and was a member of the investment management oversight committee for the System's retirement and 401(K) plans.

Dr. Cumming also served as a member of the Federal Reserve System’s committee on investment performance for eight years.

Dr. Cumming is currently an Adjunct Senior Research Scholar at Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs, and teaches part time at Columbia SIPA and at Rutgers University.  She serves on the boards of Citizens Financial Group, Inc., and American Family Insurance Mutual Holding Company.

Dr. Cumming holds her Ph.D in economics and a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
