Computer Systems Developer


LOCATION

Norwalk, Connecticut

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

The Computer Systems Developer for content management and information systems will report to the Financial Accounting Foundation (FAF) Manager of Research Systems.

THE ROLE

The FAF seeks an individual possessing a strong background in software development with a deep working knowledge of integrated content management systems and web based platforms. The position will be responsible for providing all systems support for enterprise wide content management and information systems for online research platforms and organizational websites as well as providing cross-team support for the UGT project.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of the Computer Systems Developer will include:

  • Performing development and maintenance for the FAF Codification and related content management system, including the integrated UGT workflow tracking
     
  • Performing development and maintenance for the GASB accounting pronouncements online platform
     
  • Performing development and maintenance for FAF, FASB, and GASB websites
     
  • Bringing specific system development and maintenance responsibilities in-house that are currently outsourced
     
  • Managing the implementation of software development as specified in statements of work with software developers including:

    • Performing software acceptance testing
       
    • Providing training to staff as required for using applications
       
    • Obtaining user feedback and developing feature requests
  • Assisting FAF Research Systems group with technical support for platform maintenance and ongoing development
     
  • Working closely with FAF staff and outside consultants in the conception and building of new information systems
     
  • Providing cross-team support for the UGT development and production platform 
 
QUALIFICATIONS

The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related field
     
  • Minimum 4 years work experience in related field
     
  • Strong software development background with general programming language experience
     
  • Experience developing or maintaining XML Content Management Systems
     
  • Experience programming with JavaScript and JQuery
     
  • Experience developing and maintaining websites; FatWire Software knowledge a plus
     
  • Experience managing database systems and platforms such as Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server a plus
     
  • Experience developing XML schemas; experience with style sheet/transform development (XSLT and XSL 2.0) and XML Editor applications a plus
     
  • Strong soft skills – including interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written, verbal, and listening)
     
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical ability
     
  • Follow-up and follow-through capability
     
  • Willing to learn and be able to grasp new technologies quickly
     
  • Proven capability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously
